About CEO & Founder
Untitled design - 2023-12-05T041025.790.png

My name is Dr. Jasmine Stephens, founder and CEO of I.M.A.G.E. Counseling Services and I love helping others! I am a native of Detroit, Michigan where I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science studying Psychology in 2014, obtained a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016 and obtained a PhD in Christian Counseling in 2023. I specialize in therapy for depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and family/couples counseling.

The approach to counseling that appeals to me most as a person and a counselor stems from a cognitive-behavioral philosophy. This philosophy stresses that negative patterns of thought about self and the world are challenged in order to alter unwanted behavior patterns. Sometimes due to your thought process, you live beneath your privilege. There is so much in this life that you never get access to due to focusing on the problems rather than the fact that there is an end to the process.

I also have a passion for healing through influential music. As a singer/songwriter, I understand that most people use it to self soothe and with positive messages helps motivate you to strive further to accomplish a goal. I have found it beneficial to take an integrated approach with music and life experiences to motivate people to love, hope and dream.

Reasons To Consider Therapy

  1. Overwhelmed: If you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed all the time, then your coping mechanisms are not working, and you are not effectively managing your stress

  2. Trauma: Trauma is the emotional experience that people have in response to an incident, event, or ongoing circumstances. Trauma overwhelms our coping systems and assistance is needed to regain our equilibrium.

  3. Relationship Difficulties: Relationship problems do not have to only be related to romantic relationships. The common thread in all relationships is you. Don’t be afraid to explore yourself to see if you could be contributing to the issues in your relationships.

  4. Difficulties regulating your emotions: Many people are walking around with unresolved pain and trauma, and are unaware of these issues. If you find yourself always in an uncontrolled emotional state (anger, anxious, sadness etc), then therapy will help you learn how to manage your emotions more effectively.

  5. Self: Most people are unhappy with who they are. Increasing your self-awareness will help you to understand who you are and why you are wired the way you are. It overall promotes a healthier quality of life

  6. Maintenance: Therapy is not always about solving an intense problem. You may need to talk with someone about your next decision in life. That is totally ok!
